January Events at Bristlecone Shooting, Training & Retail Center in Lakewood, CO
It’s a new year and a new decade! What are your resolutions? What are you doing to improve your personal defense skills? We’ve got lots of classes, deals and events planned to boost your confidence in your ability to protect yourself and your family. Here are some of the highlights:
Training: We have several new classes on our calendar: Introduction to Low Light and CCW Refresher coming soon in February to name a few! You can check out our full calendar here. Or maybe you’re looking for an introductory class. Our instructors specialize in creating a non-intimidating learning environment for folks with all levels of skills. We have several introductory level classes for pistol, shotgun and rifle every week! You can take a look at our instructors and their experience here.
Retail: The owners, Bryan and Jacquelyn Clark, will be attending SHOT Show this month, where they will be able to preview all the new firearms industry “stuff” entering the marketplace in 2020. Bristlecone is committed to carrying best in breed products for personal and home defense, as well as competitive shooting in our retail area. Keeping on top of new technology and products in the industry is a big part of that effort. Range: January is one of the busiest months of the year for the range at Bristlecone. Members – we highly recommend that you take advantage of your #1 Membership benefit and make a reservation when you know you want to come in and shoot. You can make a reservation up to 14 days in advance on our website or by calling 303.985.0989. We kept our class schedule light for the first week in January, so that we can accommodate as many reservations and walk in customers as possible. The range is a great indoor activity for families and friends enjoying the last bit of winter break, so come in and enjoy!
Youth Programs: The Bristlecone Youth Shooting Club will be ramping back up in January 2020. This is a great activity for kids ages 10 – 17 who want to learn more about the Shooting Sports with their peers and receive coaching from our instructors. The Youth Club will start their winter sessions on January 29th and will continue on select Wednesdays through mid-March, focusing on Bowling Pin-style competitive shooting. This season, because of the generosity of our Members, we are able to offer a limited number of Youth Club scholarships. Scholarship recipients will receive free admission and ammunition for all 4 winter sessions of the Bristlecone Youth Club. The Scouts Venturing Crew is an inclusive program through the Boy Scouts of America for boys and girls ages 14 – 20 that also has a home at Bristlecone Shooting. The crew meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month from 6:30-8PM at Bristlecone. Each meeting includes time in the range where participants can learn in a supportive environment.
