How the match works

Bowling Pin matches are bracketed head-to-head double elimination competitions.  There will be 2 brackets (winner and loser), with the main bracket consisting of 30 shooters. There is a handicap system in place to ensure a fair match.

Shooters are required to wait at the firing line in the “high ready” position with their firearm safely pointed down range, safety on, and index finger outside the trigger guard until the start is signaled.  The competitor that knocks all of their pins completely off the table first wins the head to head round. The winner moves to the winner bracket and the loser moves to the loser bracket, but can still compete until he/she has 2 losses.

Prizes will be provided by Bristlecone Shooting nightly.  Come show us your competitive side!

How the match works:

Each USPSA match consists of 3 stages, one of which is a classifier. The goal is to shoot the predetermined Course of Fire (COF) as quickly as possible while maintaining safety and accuracy. Competitors run, move, work around obstacles, speed-reload, and more during these dynamic stages. The higher your hit factor, the higher your classification!

Each COF presents different challenges and requires competitors to perform different tasks and move in various ways!

Scores are posted to Practiscore after each match.

GSSF League Matches

We are excited to host GSSF Matches at Bristlecone! The GSSF League Match is a series of three matches conducted over a 3-week period. Participants must be current Members and compete in two of the three matches to qualify for plaques and prizes. If you are not currently a member, you may join online at this website, or upon registration at a GSSF League Match.

An annual GSSF membership costs only $35.00 for new members and $25.00 for renewing members and allows you to compete in any GSSF match.

Competitors may shoot ANY GLOCK pistol. The Lewis Prize Allocation system is used to distribute awards as equitably as possible. Each separate pistol used during the match will be a separate entry. Your two best scores of each entry during the series will be totaled and averaged at the end of the 3-match series. If a shooter competes in only two matches, his/her scores for each entry are totaled and divided by two. If a shooter competes in all three matches, his/her best two scores for each entry are totaled and divided by 2. The result is one final score for each entry, which is then listed in the overall order in which he/she finished. The overall list is then divided into thirds, with the top one-third considered “A Class,” the second one-third is “B Class,” and the final one-third is “C Class.” Plaques are awarded to the top competitor of each class. Unlimited Class is available for non-stock GLOCK Pistols.
