Welcome 2023! We’re glad you’re here. This month, it’s all about our Training Department at Bristlecone. The new year is a great time to focus on learning something new or to re-focus on important skills that have become rusty. Our instructors talk in their classes about how “Training is a lifelong journey.” We stand by this statement, as we believe that it’s important to always be a student. That’s why we strive to provide well-rounded training opportunities in the personal defense and recreational shooting space, as well as to have the very best instructors in the area. Training
Here are some training opportunities for to consider in early 2023:
Walk-In Instructor Hours on the Range: Select Tuesday Evenings Each Month
Want some extra training during your next range visit? Come shoot on the range during our free walk-in instructor sessions! If you want some tips on how to continue improving or if you’re not ready to commit to a class, come in and shoot on the range during one of our walk-in instructor sessions this month and our instructor will be happy to help you out!
During the 2-3 hour block of time, one of our certified firearms instructors will be on the range ready to help out and assist. They are there to answer questions, recommend drills, and observe your skills while you get some practice in. There is no extra charge and no appointment or reservation needed! Additionally, if you come in and decide to register for a course, the instructor can sign you up for 10% off!
Intro to Pistol – with Special Weekday Pricing: Offered multiple times each week, $125 discounted to $99 for classes Monday – Thursday
Intro to Pistol is a comprehensive course that is designed to teach basic pistol handling, ammunition, selecting and storing a firearm, and most importantly, handgun safety. More info and register here.
Bristlecone Concealed Carry, Standard, Beginners, and Women-Only Classes: Offered multiple times each week, $125
Bristlecone’s Concealed Carry course exceeds the state of Colorado’s requirements for a concealed handgun permit by educating students on types of handguns that are most efficient for concealed carry, how to carry handguns safely and securely, and how to utilize them appropriately during a self defense situation. Bristlecone offers this curriculum in several different formats; standard, beginners and women-only. Based on scientific research, logic, and reasoning, this course will reinforce basic pistol handling as well as inform students about holster selection, alternative force options, interacting with law enforcement, and the aftermath of an incident. While many of our classes include live-fire and range time, we do offer a variety that are classroom-only and are just as important to your personal defense training. Look for these classes on our Training Calendar and see if any of them are what you’ve been looking for to further your skills:

Bristlecone Rifle Classes – New and Improved!
Our Intro to Rifle, Rifle 2 and Tactical Rifle series of classes are all new and much improved for 2023. If you’ve taken any of these classes in the last year and are still interested in refining your skills, we would encourage you to consider revisiting these classes. Stay tuned for a special offer for alumni students this month! We spent lots of time in 2022 making these classes inclusive of more platforms and bringing the drills up to date, so that our students can be assured that they’re getting the very best training in the state from the very best instructors.

Retail and Range
Stay tuned for some fun FLASH sales throughout our store to support our Front Ranges Rumble competition this month! Bristlecone has been invited to participate in a cross-range competition this year for bragging rights and a traveling trophy. We’ll be putting together a superstar team comprised of our staff members and our customers and Members over the next few weeks, and then we’ll be traveling to Triple J, Shoot Indoors and DCF to show off our skills. Bristlecone will be hosting the final match in the series in February. Each week, we’ll be featuring a different sale in our retail area to support our team of shooters. Details coming soon!
SHOT Show is happening later this month in Las Vegas and this year’s theme is “It’s a Big Deal”. We’ll be making a Big Deal of it, as we travel to Las Vegas to bring you back all the latest and greatest products, technologies and trends. Interested in learning more about something in particular? Gunsmith
Much of our business across the Bristlecone facility comes from word-of-mouth and referrals, and our Gunsmith shop is no different! All month in January, our Gunsmith is offering you a deal when you refer a new customer to their shop!
If you bring our Gunsmith the name of a new customer (must be a first time Bristlecone Gunsmith customer) that you referred who uses the Gunsmith in January, you’ll get an extra 10% off of labor on your next Gunsmith job. If you’re a Member, that’s 25% off (because you already get 15% off labor every day in the Gunsmith Shop as a Member benefit!). And remember, the Gunsmith gives a 5% discount to Veterans all year round!

Bristlecone Members – Remember to use your #1 Membership Benefit this month and book your range lanes in advance. You can book up to 2 lanes for 2 hours, up to 14 days in advance either on our website, or by calling our reservations line through our general number.
