Bristlecone Shooting, Training & Retail Center Teaches Concealed Carry Class for Hearing Impaired
Partnering with Tina Francone, Straightforward Shooting, LLC, Bristlecone is providing concealed carry weapons training for those with disabilities.

LAKEWOOD, Colo. — Bristlecone Shooting, Training & Retail Center will teach their first Concealed Carry Class for the hearing impaired on Monday, May 18th. Upon completion of the course, students will receive a certificate and be eligible to apply for a Concealed Carry Weapon permit from the county they reside in.

“Personally, I enjoy instructing groups of people who do not typically seek out this type of training as actively as men – women, kids and those with disabilities. I think that sometimes these are the groups who actually need the instruction most. Especially, our disabled community,” said Tina Francone, NRA Certified Instructor and owner of Straightforward Shooting, LLC. “While there are some interesting challenges to creating and maintaining a safe environment with a class like this, the curriculum is the same as what I teach to folks without disabilities; I don’t teach any differently to someone who has hearing vs. someone who doesn’t. Granted, there are more people in the room with students and interpreters. That poses a safety consideration on the range during live fire, but working with the right range makes it so easy. Bristlecone Shooting Range has been super in providing a safe environment for students, instructors and interpreters. Sure, I consider the disability while teaching – you have to – but, for the most part, people with disabilities are highly motivated to learn and make excellent students”.
