February Events at Bristlecone Shooting, Training & Retail Center in Lakewood CO
There’s lots to love this month at your favorite shooting range, firearms retailer and training center in Lakewood. Range
Looking for something different to do with your sweetheart for Valentine’s Day? What about some heart-pumping time on the range followed by a delicious meal and craft beer selection at a discount next door at Westrail Tap & Grill?
For $45 (a $90 value):
2 people share a lane and get (2) 9MM rentals, 1 box of 9MM ammunition, 2 targets and eye/ear protection, then head next door to Westrail Tap & Grill for 20% off your meal that same day.

Training
We have some new classes on our calendar this month, with more new curriculum in development. Check out our full calendar here and read about the highlights below:
Introduction to Low Light: Most gun encounters happen at night. Target identification is especially critical under dim light conditions. This course explores what is needed to shoot in low light/no light situations, using available light or a hand-held flashlight. You will have the opportunity to experience shooting with a light system mounted on your weapon during the class if you come prepared with an accessory rail. You will also learn alternative shooting positions, shooting at a distance, how to use a flashlight/ cover of darkness to optimal advantage, and various types of flashlight holds.
CCW Refresher Course: Need to renew your CCW permit? This class is for you. This course is designed to refamiliarize students with the essentials of concealed carry, defensive mindset, and current applicable Colorado statutes. This course focuses on safety and the defensive mindset, as well as explores methodology on managing conflict and resolution. Classroom and range time included.
Don’t forget about our ongoing downrange training opportunities with both pistol and rifle. Our Lunchtime Locked & Loaded and Coffee & Carbines sessions (now with evening options) continue to be a great way to work with more advanced concepts in short periods of time.
Membership
Our “Free for Members” seminar series continues in February with our Suppressor Seminar and Demo Day on 2/16 at 2PM. The process to acquire these devices, which are legal in the state of Colorado, may be easier than you think. Learn about the different types, benefits and how you go about getting approval from the ATF during this brief, educational seminar. Then, join us the in range to try them out and see how different your range experience can be. Free for Bristlecone Members (ammunition fees do apply), $10 for non-Members.
Gunsmith
Did you know that our Gunsmith offers a one-on-one AR Build Experience? If you’re interested in building your own AR but not sure how to start, the Bristlecone Gunsmith AR Build Experience allows you to work one-on-one alongside the Bristlecone Head Gunsmith in his custom shop to build a safe, functioning rifle that is one of a kind.
No tools or build experience required. During your 4-hour (approximate timeframe) session, you’ll learn all the tips and tricks associated with your build. You’ll leave with a functioning rifle AND the knowledge to do it again on your own in the future. Range time to test fire your new rifle included. Read more and register here.
