Pinecone Level 3
5 hours
The Precision Rifle Reloading class builds on the concepts learned in the Rifle Reloading class and expands students’ knowledge of rifle reloading even further for long range shooting! Topics covered in this class include measuring the rifle’s chamber with a specific projectile, annealing, brass preparation, cleaning, primer pocket reaming, flash hole deburring, resizing cases with match dies, setting neck tension, shoulder set back, trimming cases, bullet seating with match dies, and concentricity of completed cartridges. Then, the class finishes off with load development and use of a chronograph with load development.
Students will be able to bring their own rifle to measure their chamber with prior approval from the instructor prior to the class. Students will NOT be loading any ammunition in this class but will be covering each topic with demonstrations. At the end of this class, students will have an understanding of what it takes to successfully load a cartridge for long distance shooting!
