Celebrate 10 Years of National Shooting Sports Month

This August marks the 10th Anniversary of National Shooting Sports Month, a nationwide initiative created by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) celebrating the shooting sports community, which builds camaraderie through safe activities that create lasting friendships, mentorship and memorable range experiences.

This year the #rangechallenge is back!

Challenge yourself. Bring a friend. Try something new.

All month long, target shooters can enter to win weekly prizes (think $500 gift cards) drawn nationally by posting their experience on social media with #rangechallenge

National Shooting Sports Month is also a reminder that today’s firearm owners are ambassadors for our community. Every safe trip to the range helps strengthen responsible firearm ownership and creates positive first experiences for new shooters.

Colorado’s recently passed SB25-003 introduces significant changes affecting the purchase of many semiautomatic firearms beginning in 2026.
