August is National Shooting Sports Month!
August is here and we are happy to be celebrating the joy of the shooting sports alongside ranges and retailers all over the country!
Refer a Friend or Family Member
Coming to the range is so much more fun with someone you enjoy hanging out with. This month if you’re a Bristlecone Member and you refer someone who ends up joining too, we’ll give you both a $50 Bristlecone Gift Card!* You both win when you introduce someone to the range with the most Member benefits in the State, so don’t miss out on the opportunity to make some extra money in the process.
Youth and Community Opportunities
Youth Pistol, Youth Rifle, and Youth Shotgun
Bristlecone offers multiple levels of classes across each of these platforms. With sessions throughout the month of August, you have lots of options to get your young shooting sports enthusiasts involved this summer. When kids start asking questions, it is time to start teaching them about firearm safety. By allowing them to learn in a fun and safe environment, kids will learn to appreciate safety, care, and explore the fun aspects of shooting. Each 2-hour class is run by our certified instructors and includes both classroom and time on the range. Participants must be at least 10 years old. Read more and register here.

FREE Members-Only Educational Seminars
We love our Members at Bristlecone! One way we are “showing the love” this month, is by bringing back our free Members-only Educational Seminars. These 1-hour sessions focus on hot training topics and are exclusively for our Members – just one of the many perks that they enjoy here at the club. Our August topics include:
Tactical Pistol Series 8/8 5PM
Why is it important to perform techniques a specific way? What are good exercises I can do at home to get ready for the next level? What do we learn in Tac Pistol?
If you have asked yourself any of the questions about pistol shooting, come to the Seminar with Kevin McDonald, our Tactical Pistol Series Instructor and we will cover some of the ways you can train at home and grow your skill set with handguns both inside and outside of the classroom.
Concealed Carry and Biological Responses to Stress 8/8 6PM
What is it like to be in a life-threatening situation? What will I feel? How do I overcome the some of the challenges I will experience, like loss of gross motor skills, time dilation, and memory distortion?
As Concealed Carry Permit Holders, defenders of households, and competitive shooters, we face stresses every day. Being able to function through stressful situations is not something people rise to, rather we fall back to the level of our training. If you have asked yourself any of the questions above, come to the Seminar with Steve Hartel, one of our Senior Concealed Carry Instructors and we will cover some of the ways you can train at home and on the range.
Home Defense – Home Security Assessment 8/15 5PM
What does it mean to diagram a home? How can I make it more secure without it costing me a fortune? When do break-ins typically occur, night or day?
When it comes to home defense, there are a lot of things we can do to protect our houses, townhomes, and apartments. Come to our one-hour seminar with Filipp Dedogryuk, one of our Home Defense Instructors and learn about diagraming a home, understanding a target package, and grab a worksheet on how to design your home defense plan and employ preventative measures of home defense.
Registration is required for the FREE events. Members Only – please register here. Stay tuned to learn more about topics in September and October!
