Bristlecone Shooting, Training and Retail Center is always seeking ways to improve our membership and shooting range services. New this month is the introduction of the Bristlecone Youth Shooting League (BYSL), starting Friday, Sept. 23.
BYSL events, which will take place the fourth Friday of each month from 4:30-6:30 p.m., are intended to be enjoyable, social gatherings where young people (ages 10 to 17) can come together for support, encouragement, and information in a safe, nonjudgmental community. They will be able to improve on their marksmanship while bonding together in a fun indoor shooting range environment. Participants can expect classroom and range time each meeting. These sessions will provide members with a new and unique opportunity to learn and engage in shooting.
Benefits to junior shooting leagues include mastering the mental and physical discipline that it takes to learn to shoot; building camaraderie amongst peers and having fun with family and friends; learning gun handling and safety skills firsthand; and building confidence and skills as youth become educated in the lifelong sport of shooting.
The cost per session will $10 for Bristlecone members (or family members or Bristlecone members) and $20 for non-Bristlecone members
Bristlecone, located in Lakewood, Colo., offers its members and guests a wide variety of firearms training classes each month, including introduction classes, women’s only, concealed carry permit training, defensive shooting fundamentals, hunters’ education and more.
