“Intro to Pistol” Class Can Boost Your Confidence and Knowledge
Feeling safe and confident in your gun-handling is important, especially if you are a first-time shooter or haven’t been shooting in a while but could use a refresher. That’s why Bristlecone Shooting, Training and Retail Center offers an “Intro to Pistol” class on a regular basis. The next classes will be Thursday, Jan. 19th, 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., and Thursday, Jan. 26th, 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.
“This comprehensive course can give you the groundwork on basic pistol handling, ammunition, how to select and store your firearm, and most importantly, knowing how to handle your gun safely,” explains Samantha Kasven, a Bristlecone staffer and the instructor for the four-hour course.
Kasven says that she enjoys teaching Intro to Pistol because it allows her to share her passion for indoor shooting with people while providing them with a solid background to get started.
The class, which costs $125, is taught in both a women’s only and coed formats. The skills learned in the classroom are reinforced in the live fire range with practice sessions during the class. Whether you have never held a gun before, or have experience and want to refine your basic skills, Kasven stresses that Intro to Pistol can help you to gain confidence in your abilities while providing you with gun-safety handling skills.
Recommended equipment for Intro to Pistol includes a handgun, 50 rounds of ammunition, and hearing and eye protection. Bristlecone offers equipment rentals and ammunition purchases onsite. A minimum of three students is required to conduct this class.
