**This is an intermediate level course! Students should understand that basic fundamentals are NOT taught in this course. If you do not have prior firearms training and/or cannot comfortably exhibit proper safety habits and competency with your firearm, please consider our Concealed Carry for Beginners course where basic fundamentals are taught.**
Bristlecone’s Concealed Carry course exceeds the state of Colorado’s requirements for a concealed handgun permit by educating students on types of handguns that are most efficient for concealed carry, how to carry handguns safely and securely, and how to utilize them appropriately during a self defense situation. Based on scientific research, logic, and reasoning, this course will reinforce basic pistol handling as well as inform students about holster selection, alternative force options, interacting with law enforcement, and the aftermath of an incident. Skills learned in the classroom will be reinforced during the live fire range portion of the class. This 4 – 5 hour class is offered in women’s only and coed formats to fit the needs and comfortability of all students!
Required equipment:
- Defensive handgun (modern striker-fired preferred)
- 2 magazines
- 50 rounds of ammunition
- Hearing and eye protection
- Range appropriate clothing (crew neck shirt and closed toe shoes).
- If you don’t already have the recommended equipment, we offer rentals at the facility for a discounted price! Ammunition must be purchased from the facility if you require a handgun rental.
Prerequisites:
- Intro to Pistol (not required but highly recommended)
A minimum of 3 students is required to run the class or it may be canceled/rescheduled.
