Handgun Familiarity & Safety
This four-hour course is designed for those new to the shooting sports. However, it is highly recommended for handgun owners who want to learn more about their particular handgun or the responsibilities of handgun ownership. The course begins with the fundamentals of gun safety, shooting range rules, nomenclature of firearms and ammunition, general maintenance, storage, and transportation of a firearm. Handgun Familiarity & Safety also provides the new sport shooter with an overview of handgun types, calibers, and ammunition. On the range each member of the class is given the opportunity to fire several revolvers and semi-automatic pistols.
NRA Basic Pistol
Offered in co-ed and women-only formats. This is an eight-hour course that meets the State of Colorado Concealed Carry Permit requirement. It includes classroom and range time to teach inexperienced sport shooters how to operate revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students learn the National Rifle Association’s (NRA) rules for safe gun handling, pistol parts, operation, ammunition, shooting fundamentals, range rules, shooting from the bench rest position and two handed standing positions, cleaning the pistol, and continued opportunities for skill development. Students take an examination upon completion of the course and receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, and a course completion certificate.
Multi-State Concealed Carry
Offered in co-ed and women-only formats. This is a five-hour course that includes a review of handgun safety and concealed carry law, while stressing the responsibility associated with carrying a concealed weapon. It includes classroom and range time to ensure that beginners receive live-fire shooting training. Upon completion, students receive the certificate needed to apply for a Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) permit.
Intermediate Pistol Course/Concealed Carry II
This intermediate course is an eight-hour class geared to the student who wants to refine their shooting techniques. The prerequisite is our Basic Pistol Course, CCW course, or a recommendation by one of our staff instructors. Intermediate Pistol Course/Concealed Carry II begins with a review of firearm safety, range rules, and nomenclature. During the classroom portion of the course, the instructor demonstrates handgun presentation methods, shooting on-the-move, firing from cover, and refinement of the shooting technique. On the range, the instructor combines classroom drills and live fire exercises covering firing from different positions, proper handgun presentation from the holster, and an introduction into timed shooting sequences. Students also have independent time to work on individual technique challenges.
Virtual Simulator Training
One of the most exciting training features in our new facility! Are you looking to take your marksmanship skills to the next level? Or are you curious about the shooting sports and want to experience shooting a real gun, but in a non live-fire setting? Our system can accommodate a wide variety of scenarios and sport shooting levels.
Defensive Shotgun Skills
Offered in co-ed and women-only formats. This eight-hour class clears up misconceptions about the ability and deployment of the combat shotgun. Students learn to effectively operate and fire a shotgun under no-stress and high-stress situations. Topics of instruction include shotgun safety and responsibility, recoil control, marksmanship skill development, shooting positions, speed and tactical reloading, malfunction drills, target engagements, threat assessment, and shotgun modifications/accessories. A combination of lecture, demonstrations, and live fire exercises are used to teach the proper deployment of the shotgun from point blank to distances up to 25 yards.
Hunter Safety Classes
These classes are offered as a public service in conjunction with Colorado Parks & Wildlife.
Refuse to Be a Victim
